Mercedes Specialist
Mercedes-Benz Tracker & Ghost Immobiliser Installation Across Yorkshire — AMG, G-Wagon, GLE and the Full Range
Mercedes AMG C/E/G-Class, GLE, GLS, S-Class, G-Wagon and the EQE/EQS electric range are among the most theft-targeted vehicles on UK driveways — and the G-Wagon in particular is one of the few models where organised theft crews will break cover for a specific vehicle on a specific evening. Insurance schedules on current AMG-spec Mercedes almost always specify Thatcham CAT S5.

Why Mercedess are stolen
Mercedes sits firmly on organised crews' target lists. Four dimensions of the problem:
AMG variants — organised theft
TargetedAMG C/E/S and AMG SUVs: high resale, keyless, strong continental and Middle East export market. AMG G-Class thefts frequently traced to specific overseas buyer networks.
G-Wagon — a category of its own
High riskOne of the UK's most specifically-stolen vehicles by value. Owners need to assume their G-Wagon will be targeted and build the install around that assumption.
Keyless Go + OBD cloning
< 2 minEvery current Mercedes uses Keyless Go and has an accessible OBD port. Relay attack works against Keyless Go; OBD cloning programmes a blank key in under two minutes.
The recommended stack
What to fit on every Mercedes
On G-Wagons and high-value AMGs, the full stack isn't optional — it's the standard recommendation.
G-Wagon standard: Ghost II + S5 + Thinkware U3000 with radar parking-mode. Not optional.
Autowatch Ghost II
Essential on every keyless Mercedes. Prevents relay and OBD attacks at source. Doesn't affect AMG Performance, drive modes, adaptive air suspension or auxiliary heating.
Ghost II installation →Thatcham S5 Tracker
Required by most insurers above ~£40k. Driver tags + 24/7 ADR. Hidden-fit positions documented for all current Mercedes platforms.
S5 installation →Thinkware U3000 Dash Cam
On G-Wagons and high-value AMGs, parking-mode radar is particularly valuable given organised-theft surveillance patterns.
Thinkware installation →Generation by generation

Ghost II on Mercedes
Ghost II is essential on every keyless Mercedes. Keyless Go is unchanged — Ghost II intervenes at the engine-start stage, after Keyless Go has already done its job. Door unlock, interior use and all comfort features work normally. On G-Wagons, Ghost II + S5 + Thinkware with radar parking-mode is standard — not optional.

Frequently asked
Mercedes FAQs
Will Ghost II affect AMG Performance / Drive modes / auxiliary heating?
No. Ghost II is a passive CAN-bus listener; it doesn't interrupt drive modes, AMG settings, adaptive air suspension or factory auxiliary heating timers.
Does Mercedes me connect count as insurance-approved?
Usually not — Mercedes me connect isn't Thatcham-rated. Aftermarket S5 is what insurers expect.
Which brand is best on a G-Wagon?
For G-Class W463A we recommend Scorpion S5 or Trackstar S5 Plus, hidden-fit. Both are on the accepted brand lists of specialist insurers G-Wagon owners typically use.
Is there a hidden-fit option on a G-Wagon to preserve resale?
Yes — our standard G-Wagon install is hidden-fit, non-invasive, and leaves no visible aftermarket footprint.
Does Keyless Go still work once Ghost II is fitted?
Yes — Keyless Go is unchanged. Ghost II intervenes at the engine-start stage. All comfort features work normally.
Will the install affect EQS / EQE electric range or charging?
No. EV Mercedes install is broadly equivalent to combustion; 12V auxiliary power for the tracker; no impact on battery range or charging.
Can I transfer the install to my next Mercedes?
Yes — reduced-labour re-fit for both tracker and Ghost II.
How long is a G-Wagon install?
Full stack (Ghost II + S5 + Thinkware U3000 radar parking): typically 4.5–5 hours.
My AMG is on Adrian Flux — which brand will they accept?
Adrian Flux accepts Scorpion, MetaTrak, SmarTrack and Trackstar commonly. Send the schedule and we'll match exactly.
Will fitting a tracker affect my Mercedes warranty?
No. Installs are non-invasive and reversible, fitted by a TASSA-accredited engineer.
