Who Scorpion is
A UK-owned vehicle-security manufacturer
Scorpion Automotive is based in Lancashire, with a Thatcham-tested product range used by several car manufacturers at OE level. The ScorpionTrack brand covers their aftermarket tracker family, operated from a UK control room with police-force liaison built in. For owners who prefer a British-designed system with UK monitoring — rather than a white-label product routed through a continental data centre — Scorpion is one of the stronger options.

Engineer's verdict
What Scorpion does well
Clean app
Fewer bugs and a more intuitive layout than some older platforms. Geofence setup is particularly quick.
Responsive UK control room
Alert-to-call time is consistently short; force-liaison desk has strong relationships with West, South and North Yorkshire Police.
Sensible subscription tiering
Lower tiers still include the things most owners actually need — core features aren't hidden behind the premium tier.
Strong on premium SUVs
Particularly popular with Hagerty and Adrian Flux customers — both insurers explicitly accept Scorpion on high-value policies.
OE-level build quality
The hardware sits in the tidy end of the market — no nasty surprises during install.
Vehicle match
Where Scorpion is most often the right pick
| Vehicle / Scenario | Why Scorpion |
|---|---|
| Range Rover / RR Sport / Velar | Premium SUV specialism + Hagerty/A-Plan acceptance |
| Land Rover Defender | Robust driver-tag implementation on 2020+ Defenders |
| BMW M3 / M4 / M5 | App experience paired with high-performance expectations |
| Mercedes AMG | Good CAN integration on current-gen E/C/G |
| Premium Transit Custom | S5 monitoring worth it when van carries £20k+ of tools |
| Hagerty / Adrian Flux policies | Often named explicitly as an accepted brand |

Questions we're asked most
Scorpion FAQs
Is Scorpion a UK company?
Yes — Scorpion Automotive is based in Lancashire. Hardware is designed in the UK and the control room is UK-staffed 24/7.
Is ScorpionTrack better than MetaTrak or SmarTrack?
Each has strengths. Scorpion's app and control-room responsiveness are particularly strong. MetaTrak has a lifetime-subscription option. SmarTrack is strong on vans and fleet. We recommend based on your vehicle and insurer.
Will Hagerty accept a ScorpionTrack?
Yes — Scorpion is commonly named on Hagerty's accepted-brand list. Send your schedule and we'll confirm the exact category required.
Does Scorpion work abroad?
Yes — S5 and S7 products include European coverage; upper tiers extend it further.
Can I transfer my ScorpionTrack to a new vehicle?
Yes. The unit is removable and re-installable; subscription continues on the same account. Re-fit labour applies.
Is there a lifetime subscription?
Scorpion is predominantly annual. If you want lifetime, MetaTrak's offer is worth a look — ask and we'll explain the trade-offs.
How long is the install?
S7 typically 1.5–2.5 hours; S5 typically 2–3 hours.
Can I combine ScorpionTrack with a Ghost II?
Yes — they coexist cleanly. Bundle pricing available for a single-visit install.
